Children need an especially high level of care and attention so that they trust us and allow necessary treatments. The first visits to the dentist should be as anxiety-free, stress-free and pain-free as possible for your child. We do everything we can to make your child feel comfortable with us.

Our practice encompasses all classic and modern treatment methods of today's orthodontics. The whole person plays a major role in the context of holistic orthodontics. This especially benefits our patients. Less pain, shorter sessions, fewer tooth extractions and whole-body asymmetries are treated at the same time.

Braces

A brace is a dental appliance for correcting tooth and jaw misalignments. It has proven to be beneficial to correct initial misalignments of baby teeth from the age of 6 as part of early treatment, in order to avoid maldevelopment of the jaw. Removable active plates and functional orthodontic appliances influence jaw growth and stabilize the jaw during the eruption of permanent teeth. Fine adjustment and elimination of crowding in the permanent dentition is then usually done with fixed appliances (brackets). Finally, the treatment result is stabilized using retention devices.

The fitting, insertion and, if necessary, adjustment of the brace is carried out by LifeDent orthodontic specialists.

Which type of brace is right for you?

Which type of brace is right for you depends on the type of misalignment. Whether there is a bite misalignment, whether there is dental crowding, or whether teeth are displaced or not developed at all. The patient's age and aesthetic aspects also play a role and must not be overlooked when choosing the type of brace. Since growth is present with baby teeth and mixed dentition, loose braces are more commonly used for children and adolescents. For adults, fixed braces are more common.

Different types of braces to correct misalignments

There are loose, removable braces for children and adolescents who are still growing. They influence jaw growth and thus serve to regulate it. The second type of brace is fixed appliances, whose retention clips (brackets) are fixed to the teeth with a special adhesive. These braces serve to correct tooth positioning. The teeth are moved in the desired direction with the help of biomechanical wires.

The invisible braces: Aligner / Invisalign

To meet the highest aesthetic demands, there are both loose and fixed braces in discreet and completely invisible variants.

Aligner therapy is an orthodontic treatment method for the largely invisible treatment of minor tooth misalignments, which works with a sequence of individually manufactured, thin and transparent plastic aligners. These removable aligners are almost invisible on the teeth and are less obstructive in everyday life. They can be removed for brushing teeth and eating. Invisalign braces also make speaking less difficult than other braces.

We will inform you about the advantages and disadvantages of the different braces and find the best solution together with you.
