Cleaning teeth with brackets
During a fixed treatment, dental care is significantly more demanding. Our staff will be happy to show you how to brush your teeth properly – step by step.
Bracket has come loose
Please call immediately and arrange an emergency appointment! On weekends, you may carefully try to open the bracket and remove it from the wire. Be sure to bring the bracket to the scheduled appointment!
The wire is bothering or poking
Now it's time to use the wax that you received from us to take home. Use it to protect the affected area. If that doesn't help, please arrange an emergency appointment immediately!
Toothache
During active treatment, teeth are moving – so they may temporarily be sensitive. After about a week, the sensitivity should subside.
Wearing time of the brace
For the brace to work optimally and for the jaw, teeth and muscles to adapt to the new situation, it should be worn 14 to 16 hours daily. Especially with FKO devices, wearing time during the day is significantly more effective than only at night!
Brace broken
If something breaks, please call the practice as soon as possible and arrange an appointment. We will take care of the repair quickly!
